Finishing High School it is mandatory for all students to take the CAE (CERTIFICATE IN ADVANCED ENGLISH) EXAM. This examination is part of a suite of general English examinations produced by CAMBRIDGE ESOL. This suite consists of five examinations that have similar characteristics but are designed for different levels of English language ability. Within the five levels, CAE is at level C1 in the COUNCIL OF EUROPE’S COMMON EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK OF REFERENCE FOR LANGUAGES: learning, teaching, assessment. It has also been accredited by the qualifications and curriculum authority in the UK as a level 2 ESOL, certificate in the National Qualifications Framework. The CAE examination is widely recognized in commerce and industry, and in individual university faculties and other educational institutions.

 

 

 

COMMON EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK OF REFERENCE

Within the five levels, FCE is at level B2 in the COUNCIL OF EUROPE’S COMMON EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK OF REFERENCE FOR LANGUAGES: learning, teaching, assessment. It has also been accredited by the qualifications and curriculum authority in the UK as a level 1 ESOL, certificate in the National Qualifications Framework. This suite consists of five examinations that have similar characteristics but are designed for different levels of English language ability. Within the five levels, PET is at level B1 in the COUNCIL OF EUROPE’S COMMON EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK OF REFERENCE FOR LANGUAGES: learning, teaching, assessment. It has also been accredited by the qualifications and curriculum authority in the UK as a level entry 3 ESOL, certificate in the National Qualifications Framework. The PET examination is widely recognized in other educational institutions all over the world.

 

Our students throughout their primary have been developing successfully the four basic abilities learning a foreign language: Reading Comprehension, Listening Comprehension, Use of English & Writing and Speaking.

The University of Cambridge starts giving assessments since childhood with their Young Learners Exams:  Starters, Movers and Flyers.  Here at Green Hills School, these YLE exams, as well as the KET-Key exam (Key English Test) are not mandatory for our students, but they are essential in their preparation for future examinations.  If you would like your child take these exams we will contact you with the British Council.

 

 

 

COMMON EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK OF REFERENCE STARTING WITH YOUNG LEARNERS EXAMS

 

 

Our students begin getting ready for Cambridge Examinations in Second Grade Primary, with the preparation for  the Starters Exam.

 

They are exposed to British & American pronunciations, as well as words equivalents from American and British English in a wide variety of funny interactive exercises.   They increase their academic and every day vocabulary as well as grammar structures to speak and write in English correctly.

 

 

 

Third grade Primary Students start being prepared for the Movers examination from the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations

 

They continue being exposed to British & American pronunciations, as well as words equivalents from American and British English in a wide variety of funny interactive exercises.   They increase their academic and every day vocabulary as well as grammar structures to speak and write in English correctly.

 

 

 

Fourth Grade Primary students continue their preparation for future examinations when they finish Elementary, Secondary and High School. This year they start getting ready for the Flyers Exam.

 

They keep on being exposed to British & American pronunciations, as well as words equivalents from American and British English in a wide variety of funny interactive exercises.   They increase their academic and every day vocabulary as well as grammar structures to speak and write in English correctly.

Within the five levels, KET is at level A2 in the COUNCIL OF EUROPE’S COMMON EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK OF REFERENCE FOR LANGUAGES: Learning, Teaching, Assessment. It has also been accredited by the qualifications and curriculum authority in the UK as a level entry 2 ESOL, certificate in the National Qualifications Framework. The KET or Key Examination is widely recognized in other educational institutions all over the world.

 

Fifth Grade Primary students are successfully prepared to take the KEY (KET) English exam with the University of Cambridge.  This exam is not mandatory for Fifth Grade students, but it guarantees us, our students are ready for this exam.

 

They finish the YLE & KET exams’ preparation being exposed to British & American pronunciations, as well as words equivalents from American and British English in practice or mock exams. They have increased their academic and every day vocabulary as well as grammar structures to speak and write in English correctly.
